A pioneer in the field of social advocacy melded with technology, BudgIT uses an array of tech tools to simplify the budget and matters of public spending for citizens, with the primary aim of raising the standard of transparency and accountability in government.
Job Purpose
This role is responsible for creating intuitive, functional, visually appealing, and high-impact designs.
Key Working Relationships
Working relationships will include the Co-Founder/Director, Principal Lead, Program Leads, and Media and Communications Team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design for consistent and seamless experiences across mediums that enhance the BudgIT brand.
- Create brand assets such as logos, iconography, illustrations, color palettes, patterns, and other design elements when needed.
- Work on a range of ambitious projects including, but not limited to, content graphics, social media graphics, event collateral, print materials, internal collateral, infographics, storyboards, and illustrations.
- Work consistently in line with BudgIT’s brand guidelines regarding typography, color, layout, and art direction.
- Ensure BudgIT’s visual design and brand consistency in all assets by producing high-quality visual designs and illustrations.
- Collaborate with program leads to translate ideas into workable sketches, infographics, wireframes, and full visual designs.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant degree.
Experience and Core Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a graphic designer or in a related field.
- Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
- Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including Photoshop, CorelDRAW, Illustrator, etc.
- A strong eye for visual composition.
- Ability to effectively translate strategy and concepts into visually and intellectually stimulating content.
- Must have exceptional written and oral presentation abilities, as well as an ability to craft creative presentation documents. (i.e, creative briefs).
- Experience with strategic positioning, creative briefs, graphics briefs, marketing briefs.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
