Job Description
As the Accounts Officer, you will assist with the day-to-day accounting activities by maintaining accurate financial records and posting all transactions into the accounting system for review and preparation of financial reports.
- Reviewing financial documents for accuracy and reconciling accounts.
- Working with Accounts Payable to ensure that cashbook transactions are submitted timely for capture into the accounting system.
- Accurate recording of financial transactions into the accounting system.
- Performance of bank reconciliations on a regular and timely basis.
- Ensuring financial records comply with regulatory standards.
- Assisting in the preparation of financial reports.
- Identifying and resolving errors in financial records.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Inputting data into financial spreadsheets.
- Prepare invoices for approval.
- Provision of support during statutory financial audits.
- Other tasks assigned by the Supervisor that are relevant to the position.
Key Skills:
- A Degree in accounting or other related courses.
- Minimum of 3-4 work experience in accounting/bookkeeping practice.
- Membership with ICAN, CFA, ACCA or CMA is an added advantage.
- Proficient in the use of accounting software, especially QuickBooks.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take instructions accurately.
- Competent IT skills, particularly proficiency with MS Excel and Google Spreadsheets.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entry.
- Trustworthy and discreet when dealing with confidential information.
