Project Tracking Report on Public Service Delivery in Oil-Producing Communities
This report reviews the tracking of federally funded capital projects in oil-producing communities across Nigeria’s Niger Delta, focusing on Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Delta, and Rivers states. It examines projects from the 2023 and 2024 national budgets, assessing their implementation status, value for money, and impact on service delivery across key sectors. It highlights abandoned and under-executed projects, substandard work, inadequate funding, weak oversight, and limited transparency, while drawing attention to governance and accountability gaps, procurement concerns, and low citizen engagement that hinder effective use of public funds.
