BudgIT Ghana started operations in September 2019 as a registered non-governmental entity to drive citizen participation in governance and promote development through efficient service delivery. We have reached over 350 000 Ghanaians through online and offline engagement, including 80 civic society organizations in Ghana. We’ve also engaged over eight different communities and supported one government agency.
2020 was an election year in Ghana; as such, we turned our gaze on the different ways we can improve voters’ knowledge of presidential candidates and the voting process. To do this, we analyzed past and current election data, including the presidential candidates’ background information, the total number of registered voters, and voter registration by age, gender, and region. The result of the research was documented and made available to the public through our social media platforms.
