As part of its ongoing institutional engagement in CTAP activities in Ghana, BudgIT Ghana Ag, country Manager, Mr. Felix Ankrah, visited the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Ghana Office to showcase the different areas of focus of the BudgIT Foundation and the projects that BudgIT Ghana is working on, especially the Covid-19 Transparency and Accountability Project (CTAP).

CTAP is a civil society-led initiative to increase citizen engagement, promote change in how governments use public resources and increase the government’s capacity to meet people’s needs. Concerning COVID-19 disbursement in Ghana, problems like illegal procurement, political use of funds and other relief, and diverting funds into the personal accounts of political leaders have left many communities struggling with the pandemic’s effects in economic and social isolation.

BudgIT Ghana has engaged numerous individuals and organizations, including government officials, on their perspectives on the disbursement and distribution of COVID-19 funds and vaccines to fulfill the mandate for transparency and financial accountability of the COVID-19 funds.
