The State of Women’s Economic Empowerment in Nigeria

The State of Women’s Economic Empowerment is a novel subnational assessment of the current realities and efforts the 36 states of Nigeria are making, to achieve women economic empowerment and further
close different gender disparities. The core pillars of the National Women Economic Empowerment Policy and Action plan were used as indexes for the assessment. The cross cutting accelerators, together
with certain strategic goals and policy interventions, informed the indicators for assessment under each index.
