Social and Citizen Accountability for PHC Performance (SCAPP)

In recent times, Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) have been undergoing revitalisation across the nation. This exercise, alongside the Sector-Wide Approach (SWaP), aims to improve the standard of health care delivery by streamlining and harmonising the various health projects and their implementations. BudgIT, with the support of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, has been leading initiatives to strengthen the accountability process of primary healthcare services and empower communities to take ownership and lead advocacy efforts for the improvement of their primary healthcare centres (PHCs). To this end, BudgIT, in collaboration with other partners—Kaduna State Maternal Health and Accountability in Kaduna Initiative (KADMAM), Health Sector Reform Coalition (HSRC), and Haven Trust Consulting — is leading the implementation of the Social and Citizen Accountability for Primary Health Care Performance (SCAPP) in Kaduna State.
