Strengthening health systems in Nigeria has evolved beyond policies and funding; there is a dire need for community engagement to improve health delivery across the country. Community-led advocacy for improved PHC utilization, funding, service delivery and infrastructure development is required to improve Nigeria’s health sector completely.

This report presents a comprehensive gender analysis showing the current state of PHC utilization across gender and age groups, reproductive health, family planning and child spacing landscape across five states: Gombe, Kaduna, Kano, Niger, and Yobe.
