Economic Diversification and Fiscal Sustainability of Oil-Producing States: A Case Study of Delta State
This report reviews federally funded capital projects in oil-producing communities across selected Niger Delta states, assessing their implementation, value for money, and impact on service delivery. It highlights abandoned and poorly executed projects, weak oversight, transparency gaps, and low citizen engagement that limit the effective use of public funds. The findings point to persistent governance and procurement challenges and underscore the need for stronger monitoring, accountability, and citizen participation to ensure public investments translate into meaningful development outcomes.
