BudgIT, a foremost civic-tech group facilitating civic and institutional engagements in Africa through the use of technology, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Lead Francophone Africa (LEAD), to enhance fiscal transparency and accountability in Senegal. BudgIT did this under its International Expansion Project.
The signing, which took place at Rue Carnot Dakar, Senegal, had LEAD’s Executive Director, Moussa Mbaye Gueye, his Project Manager, Diognal Mbaye, and the newly appointed Project Lead for BudgIT in Senegal, Ahmad0u Samb, in attendance.
During the signing, Moussa Agueye applauded BudgIT’s capacity to report the status of projects funded by multilateral agencies such as the Department for International Development (DFID), Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the World Bank through its service delivery promotion platform, Tracka. Also, he noted that Lead Francophone Africa (LEAD), through the leadership of the newly appointed Project Lead, is committed to executing all co-created programs.
BudgIT’s Global Director, Mr Oluseun Onigbinde, reaffirmed BudgIT’s commitment to initiate sub-grant agreements with clear project deliverables, budget lines, and other mutually focused obligations. He also assured all parties that BudgIT will provide remote technical assistance to ensure all projects are executed successfully.
Undoubtedly, BudgIT’s presence in Senegal will strengthen technology and innovations to enhance citizens’ engagement with institutional improvement to facilitate societal change in Senegal through its transparency and accountability process. We look forward to a productive partnership.
